The Demoman animation is done!

After much work I am pleased to announce that my TF2 Demoman animation is finally complete.

While I am here I thought I’d share some behind the scenes stuff about my animation.

During development of my animation I attempted to get the axe that the demoman uses to trash his computer to interact together allowing for a believable interaction between the objects. While I did get the physics to work, I was not able to get the axe to function as I wanted.

To solve this issue I instead added a plain, generic UV sphere into the scene, made it a rigid body, made it animatable, and let the physics simulation play out. Once I was satisfied with how that turned out I selected the option to not have the sphere rendered so it would not be visible in the final scene; thus giving the illusion that it is the axe colliding with the personal computer, monitor, and lamp.
